**Chief Executive Officer (CEO)**

**Nonprofit Human Services Organization**

**Location:** Massachusetts | On-site Wakefield, MA

**Overview**

Our Client, a well-established, mission-driven nonprofit human services organization is seeking a hands-on, values-based Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to provide visible leadership, operational alignment, and strategic partnership with the Board of Directors and key state agencies. Reporting directly to the Board, the CEO will serve as the organization's chief operating and strategic leader, ensuring high-quality service delivery, financial stewardship, and strong collaboration across multiple service divisions supporting people with disabilities.

**The Role**

This position is responsible for implementing the strategic goals and objectives of the organization including fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. Will provide direction and leadership toward the achievement of the organization's philosophy, mission, strategy, and its annual goals and objectives. The CEO will oversee the overall operation and administration of the Agency's programs and business activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Manage the daily operations of the organization.
* Lead the Agency in a manner that supports and guides the mission and core values.
* Direct the organization to achieve stated strategic / business goals and objectives while ensuring the fiscal and program integrity of its operations as evidenced by maintaining a balanced budget and current licensing and accreditation status in good standing.
* Supervise all senior staff including the Director of Residential Services, Director of Family Services, Director of Day Services, Director of Human Resources, maintenance and quality assurance.
* Assure the organization and its mission, programs, and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders. Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities.
* Serve as the Agency's authorized agent and spokesperson in all public matters, including contract negotiations with local, state and federal entities and act as primary liaison with funding sources to ensure that positive working relationships remain intact.
* Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the Agency that is dedicated to the delivery of high-quality services and supports.
* Serve as point person and project manager for DDS Licensure and Certification audit and CARF recertification.
* Assure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local government corporate reporting and / or filing requirements.
* Serve as the Agency's authorized agent and spokesperson in managing key business partnerships including financial banking partners, legal counsel, and independent auditors.
* Work closely with the Board of Directors to provide it support and consultation in fulfilling its governing functions.
* Provide candid, complete, timely and accurate information to the Board of Directors concerning the organization's financial status, operations and programs.
* Assist the Board of Directors in preparing annual goals and an annual and a long-range strategic plan that will enable the organization to grow and flourish and provide superior and effective programs and services. Components of the plans should include but not be limited to realistic, achievable and measurable goals for the organization, including fundraising, and the establishment of an endowment or capital reserve fund.
* Ensure that the Board of Directors receives for its review and approval an updated strategic plan (business plan) and integrated operating and capital budgets in advance of each new fiscal year.
* Demonstrate and implement knowledge of policies, funding source guidelines and applicable laws.

**Education and Experience:**Advanced degree, ideally an MBA or related field such as human services, education, or nonprofit management, with at least five years of leadership and organizational experience in a non-profit organization. At least five years of senior management experience within the nonprofit sector and hands-on experience with government contracts and knowledge of developmental disabilities practices preferred.

**Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:** Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures. Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills. Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning. Valid driver's license required. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings when applicable.
