### Must have:
### - Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline; equivalent hands-on experience may substitute for a degree. - At least 5 years of experience designing, integrating, and supporting industrial or mission-critical communication networks. - Practical experience with Layer 3 switching, VLAN segmentation, and routed network architectures. - Background supporting SCADA, telemetry, or OT network environments. - Strong understanding of industrial network topologies, redundancy models, and Layer 2/Layer 3 Ethernet switching. - Proficiency in TCP/IP and UDP networking principles, as well as IP and serial communications. - Working knowledge of virtualization and hypervisor platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Proxmox. - Familiarity with RF communications fundamentals, propagation, firewalls, VPNs, and secure gateways. - Experience in water/wastewater, utilities, energy, or other critical infrastructure environments is preferred. - Familiarity with industrial networking vendors such as Cisco, Ruggedcom, Hirschmann, Moxa, Fortinet, Stratix, or similar is preferred. - Experience with RF propagation modeling tools is preferred. - Knowledge of OT cybersecurity standards and regulatory requirements is preferred. - Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, Security+, radio, virtualization, or industrial networking credentials are preferred. - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across wired, wireless, and serial networks. - Ability to convert operational needs into secure, reliable network designs and engineering solutions. - Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on availability, performance, and cybersecurity. - Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and field teams. - Ability to work independently, as part of a multidisciplinary team, and with professionalism and discretion. - Strong prioritization and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common business collaboration tools. - Valid California Drivers License.
Responsibilities:

- Design, integrate, configure, test, commission, and support industrial communication networks and telemetry systems for SCADA and OT environments. - Apply application engineering judgment to align network solutions with customer goals, system requirements, performance targets, and environmental constraints. - Review existing network and telemetry systems and recommend enhancements or upgrades. - Integrate and support industrial network devices such as Ethernet switches, routers, firewalls, VPN appliances, secure gateways, radio transceivers, cellular modems, and telemetry equipment. - Configure and maintain network infrastructure in line with internal standards and cybersecurity best practices. - Assist with equipment deployment, on-site setup, and troubleshooting. - Design resilient industrial network topologies that support redundancy, reliability, and deterministic communications. - Configure Layer 3 switching for VLAN segmentation, inter-VLAN routing, traffic isolation, and access control. - Develop IP addressing, subnetting, and routing strategies suitable for OT environments. - Support secure IT/OT separation through firewalls, DMZ designs, and VPN technologies. - Ensure proper integration of server rack infrastructure and network interconnection interfaces according to project, safety, and documentation standards. - Establish physical and logical interconnections between devices to support core network architecture and defined topologies. - Align rack and infrastructure builds with cybersecurity, maintainability, and operational best practices. - Configure and help deploy terminals, engineering workstations, servers, and other computing hardware used in SCADA and OT environments. - Install hypervisors on physical hardware to enable secure virtualized implementations. - Deploy and prepare operating systems for use by internal automation teams. - Collaborate with automation, controls, and IT teams to support SCADA application development, testing, and deployment. - Engineer and support distributed telemetry networks using wired and wireless communication paths. - Conduct radio feasibility studies and RF assessments, including analysis of signal strength, interference, latency, throughput, and reliability. - Apply RF propagation principles to evaluate, design, and troubleshoot wireless links. - Coordinate licensed and unlicensed radio systems and cellular communication paths. - Support IP-based and serial communication interfaces, including TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet, and RS-232, RS-485, and RS-422. - Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols such as DNP3, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/RTU, and IEC 60870-5-104 or comparable protocols. - Use diagnostic and monitoring tools such as SNMP and packet capture utilities like Wireshark to resolve network and telemetry issues. - Ensure dependable end-to-end communication between field devices and control systems. - Apply cybersecurity best practices, including segmentation, least-privilege access, secure configurations, credential management, encrypted communications, and VPNs. - Support compliance with standards and frameworks such as NIST, IEC 62443, and NERC CIP. - Work with IT and cybersecurity teams to identify risks and implement mitigation measures. - Develop and execute FAT and SAT for network and telemetry systems. - Support commissioning activities in substations, plants, control centers, and remote field sites. - Provide Tier II/Tier III troubleshooting and operational support for network and telemetry incidents. - Maintain accurate network diagrams, configuration records, and technical documentation. - Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and technicians. - Support customer and internal training on site as needed. - Continue learning to stay current with emerging technologies. - Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
