- We process assigned release of information requests accurately and on time while delivering high-quality service to healthcare clients. - We safeguard patient privacy and ensure records are released only to authorized individuals in compliance with HIPAA, federal and state laws, and facility policies. - We handle continuing care and disability determination service requests, with cross-training on other request types as needed. - We access medical records following each clients specific procedures and security protocols. - We validate authorizations, classify request types correctly, and log requests in ROI software. - We retrieve and upload relevant portions of medical charts from electronic or physical files. - We perform quality control checks to reduce errors and prevent protected health information breaches. - We review invoicing for accuracy, make adjustments when necessary, and prepare billing materials for clients. - We release records to legitimate requesting entities and reject requests that are not valid or HIPAA-compliant. - We return physical records to the correct location according to procedure. - We document exceptions, communications, and other request-related details in ROI software. - We alert supervisors to unusual requests, suspected breaches, delays, connectivity problems, software or equipment issues, and security risks. - We respond to requestor questions in a respectful, efficient, and informative manner. - We store records and files securely and ensure office supplies are available. - We support additional facilities or request types during backlogs and adapt to changing on-site or remote assignments. - We follow company, client, HIPAA, regulatory, and labor requirements at all times and complete required training within the assigned timeframe.
