**Duties:** Design, develop, and test software applications. Design, develop, and/or test software applications using company technology stack. Apply technical knowledge to evaluate complex data, developments, and projects in order to provide recommendations to resolve technical issues. Support the company's business operations and improve engineering productivity. Build software components that can be integrated into a fully functional software system. Solve production issues in product and system reliability. Build and scale Uber's next generation feed personalization and advertising infrastructure. Contribute to the development of backend systems that drive customized user experiences, improve merchant visibility, and support operations tooling across global markets. Lead the design and rollout of feed customization features by tailoring home feed content to localized preferences and market dynamics. Build and deploy a scalable internal explainability, significantly reducing time to debug feed anomalies and improving transparency into feed behavior for non-technical stakeholders. Conduct comprehensive performance audits and system-level profiling of backend feed logic, identifying and deprecating low-impact or redundant features to improve response times and reduce infrastructure costs. Partner with senior engineers and product stakeholders to define the long-term architecture for Uber Eats' home feed system, ensuring scalability, resilience, and extensibility for future personalization and advertising use cases. Contribute to a culture of engineering excellence through detailed design reviews, documentation, and mentorship of new team members. May telecommute.
