**Network Engineer**

**Company Overview**

A manufacturing and technology organization is seeking a Network Engineer to help build and scale the infrastructure that powers mission-critical operations. Based in Los Angeles, California, the company combines automation, software, and cutting-edge manufacturing technologies to support highly regulated, high-availability environments. This is an opportunity to play a key role in designing and advancing the network architecture behind a fast-growing, multi-site enterprise.

**Role Summary**

The Network Engineer will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for the design, architecture, automation, and reliability of enterprise network infrastructure across data center, campus, cloud, and multi-site environments. This role will lead network strategy, new site deployments, cloud connectivity, infrastructure automation, and operational standards while partnering closely with infrastructure, security, and operations teams. The ideal candidate brings deep enterprise networking expertise, strong architectural judgment, and experience supporting highly regulated, large-scale environments.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Design and own enterprise network architecture across data center, campus, cloud, and multi-site environments.
* Lead network design and deployment efforts for new facilities, office expansions, and manufacturing locations.
* Architect scalable routing, switching, segmentation, and high-availability solutions.
* Design and support SD-WAN, VPN, cloud connectivity, and hybrid network architectures.
* Implement and optimize BGP, OSPF, routing policies, failover strategies, and traffic engineering solutions.
* Design and maintain scalable network fabrics, data center infrastructure, and multi-site connectivity solutions.
* Build Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions for network provisioning, automation, and change management.
* Support AWS and Azure networking environments, including hybrid connectivity and cloud routing.
* Develop standards for monitoring, observability, documentation, and operational excellence.
* Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of complex network, wireless, routing, and performance issues.
* Partner with telecommunications providers and vendors on circuit provisioning, redundancy, and infrastructure projects.
* Support facility technologies including Wi-Fi, security systems, access control, and IoT connectivity.
* Mentor engineers and technical team members on architecture, operational standards, and best practices.
* Participate in incident response, on-call support rotations, maintenance activities, and network modernization initiatives.

**Additional Details**

* Work model: 4-5 days onsite
* 10-20% travel required for infrastructure deployments and site expansion projects
* Participation in on-call rotations and occasional after-hours maintenance windows
* Opportunity to lead greenfield network deployments and support large-scale organizational expansion
* Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and satisfy applicable regulatory employment requirements

**Requirements**

**Required Qualifications**

* 8+ years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure engineering, or enterprise network operations.
* Experience serving as the technical owner of large-scale network architecture and design initiatives.
* Deep expertise in TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, wireless networking, and enterprise connectivity.
* Strong experience with BGP, OSPF, routing policies, network segmentation, and high-availability architectures.
* Hands-on experience supporting data center, campus, cloud, and multi-site network environments.
* Experience with Juniper networking technologies, including switches, wireless infrastructure, and cloud-managed networking platforms.
* Experience with Palo Alto firewalls, enterprise VPN technologies, and secure network design.
* Strong cloud networking experience supporting AWS and/or Azure environments.
* Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Git, or similar technologies.
* Experience supporting highly regulated enterprise environments, including manufacturing, aerospace, defense, finance, or similar industries.
* Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and project leadership skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

**Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)**

* Current CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE, or equivalent advanced networking certification.
* Experience with Juniper Mist, AI-driven network operations, and cloud-managed networking platforms.
* Expertise designing and operating EVPN/VXLAN fabrics, spine-leaf architectures, and multi-tenant environments.
* Experience with SD-WAN technologies and large-scale hybrid network architectures.
* Deep knowledge of AWS and Azure networking services, including hybrid cloud connectivity.
* Experience supporting Kubernetes networking, containerized environments, and modern application infrastructure.
* Experience with network automation, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps practices, scripting, or Python development.
* Experience managing ISP relationships, telecommunications providers, and circuit provisioning at scale.
* Experience supporting 24/7 production environments with stringent uptime requirements.
* Background mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives across infrastructure teams.
* Familiarity with security frameworks such as CMMC or other highly regulated security environments.

**Compensation & Benefits**

Job Responsibilities of a Network Engineer

The Network Engineer is pivotal in designing, building, and maintaining network architectures, particularly within a Fortinet-focused environment. Qualifications for Network Engineer Position

A minimum of five years in a carrier-grade or Managed Service Provider (MSP) network environment is essential, along with strong hands-on experience with Fortinet technologies.

Preferred qualifications include certifications such as Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) and familiarity with network automation or scripting. Additionally, experience with routing technologies like OSPF, BGP, and MPLS, as well as a solid understanding of Layer 2 networking, will significantly enhance a candidate's profile.
