The Crowd is partnering with a highly regarded Architecture and Interiors practice to appoint a Studio Lead for its growing Boston office. With an established portfolio spanning Workplace, Commercial Interiors, Hospitality and Mixed-Use environments, the studio has built a reputation for delivering award winning projects.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Architect to take on a leadership role within an established practice. Acting as the lead for the Boston studio, you will balance project leadership with operational oversight, working closely with firm leadership to manage the local team, strengthen client relationships, and support the continued growth of the office. The role offers a blend of hands-on project involvement and studio management, making it well suited to someone who enjoys both leading projects and developing people.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Commercial interiors, particularly Workplace environments, alongside proven experience delivering projects from Concept Design through Construction Administration. Having an established presence within the Boston market, with the ability to build relationships, identify new opportunities, and contribute to the long-term growth of the practice. This is a full-time position offering a hybrid working arrangement of four days in the office and one remote day.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Lead the day-to-day operations of the Boston studio, supporting team performance, resource planning, and project delivery
* Oversee the design and delivery of commercial interiors projects, ensuring a high standard of design quality and technical execution
* Mentor and develop a growing team of architects and designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing studio culture
* Manage clients and coordinate consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes
* Contribute to business development activities by strengthening existing client relationships and identifying new project opportunities within the Boston market
* Work closely with firm leadership on strategic planning, staffing, and the continued growth of the Boston office
* Support quality assurance, technical coordination, and project delivery across multiple concurrent projects
**Key Skills / Requirements:**
* Professional degree in Architecture with approximately 12--15 years of relevant professional experience and professional licensure preferred
* Strong background delivering commercial interiors and workplace projects
* Demonstrated ability to lead projects through all phases, from Concept Design through Construction Administration
* Previous experience managing teams, mentoring staff, and overseeing studio operations
* Established network and professional presence within the Boston market, with an interest in business development and client relationship management
* Strong design portfolio demonstrating high-quality commercial interiors work aligned with contemporary workplace environments
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to balance strategic oversight and hands-on project involvement
* Technical expertise in documentation, coordination, and Revit is advantageous
