Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients for diagnostic scans, via oral, injection, or inhalation routes.
- Operate imaging equipment, including SPECT/CT, to acquire diagnostic images of multiple body regions.
- Explain procedures to patients, address questions, and position patients for optimal image quality and patient comfort.
- Process and review images (brain, thyroid, bone, heart, lungs, kidneys, liver) and generate computer-based images for physician interpretation.
- Maintain detailed records of radiopharmaceuticals used and procedures performed; ensure accurate, compliant documentation.
- Adhere to radiation safety procedures to minimize exposure for staff and patients; stay current with field advances and best practices.
Requirements
- New Hampshire license and certification to practice nuclear medicine required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
- 1 year of nuclear medicine experience preferred; equivalent education/experience considered.
- Ability to work in a hospital setting and participate in a day-shift travel assignment.
